Studio Binding™ System
The Studio Binding system is an affordable way to bind any previously difficult-to-bind papers into Photobooks. Ideal for print shops, photographers and others who want to expand into the developing photography market.
The book block is edge-stapled using the powerful Powis Stitcher, then strip bound over the special flat recessed staples in the Fastback 8xe. Finally, the book is assembled using the Hardcover Guide. Because of the stitching, it is not recommended for panoramic photos across two pages.
Production Work Cell
The Production Work Cell is designed for making bookshop-quality glossy books. Using StitchFree™ technology, you get the strength of traditional stitching and the flatter-lying pages of Perfect binding. This system allows for full-page bleeds on coated papers, and is suitable for panoramic images.
The binding edge is first 'split' with the Fastback Splitter, allowing the adhesive in the binding strip to attach internally to the raw paper fibres rather than the exterior coating. After binding in the Fastback 20, the Hardcover Guide is employed to assemble the final Photobook.
